The end of the beginning

Olá gente

Final week here at the CTM. I've been getting kind of restless here and I feel like it's about time for me to head on out to the field. Of course I know that as soon as I leave I'm gonna miss it here but that's just the way it be sometimes.

I've heard a lot of people talk about how they left the MTC feeling pretty confident in their language and then getting to the field and realizing they know nothing. Luckily I won't have that problem cause I already know nothing.

In fact just a few minutes ago I was reaffirmed that I know absolutely nothing. As I've said before I've been kind of trapped here in the CTM with my only trips outside being temple trips. Well today we convinced one of our instructors to take us to the super market next door. It was only a 15 minute trip outside the gates but it was one of the most exciting things to happen yet haha. But after paying for my Bis (Brazilian KitKat) the cashier asked me something in Portuguese and I had absolutely zero clue what it was so my instructor had to save me. Turns out he just wanted me to pay in exact change for some reason haha.

Anyway I'm still stoked to get out in the field even though every exchange I have will probably go exactly like that.

I was thinking today about how much we pray as missionaries. It seems like at the beginning and end of just about every hour of the day. Back at home, it never would have occurred to me to pray before a game of pick-up basketball, but why not? We have the ability to ask God for His help and show our gratitude for it so why not take advantage of it? I'm thankful for prayer and how it has strengthened my relationship with my Heavenly Father.

I love you guys! Tchau!
