Me ajude Obi-Wan Kenobi, você é minha única esperança
Opa gente,
I don't know why but for whatever reason that fact that the same pop culture references that I've enjoyed my whole life also exist in Portuguese is so so funny to me. So when I said "help me Obi-Wan Kenobi" today and my comp responded with the subject line I died.
What's up guys the last two weeks have been pretty good! Lots of work and constantly being tired, but that is by far the best feeling on the mission!
Speaking of being tired, we had zone conference this week! When we have zone conference a van picks us up at 2 AM and drives us all the way to Lafaiete, stopping at many other missionaries apartments along the way, which is about a 6 hour trip. We then have zone conference from about 9-5 then we get right back in the van and head back. It's exhausting but it's so awesome!
This time was so much better than the last cause I understood so much more! My mission president talked about the importance of daily repentance and how our job as missionaries is to preach repentance. But what exactly does it mean to "preach repentance"? We don't call people out and tell them all the bad things they're doing, we love them, help them, and INVITE them to be better. There's a talk by president Nelson about this that yall should give a read:
Yesterday I went to my first authentic Brazilian Churrasco (BBQ) for a member's birthday/graduation party. It was super good and a ton of fun. I ate a lot of meat and a bunch of Pão de queijo which is the freaking best.
Lots of stuff has happened, lots of funny stories with drunk people and weird people, but I don't want to type it out so if there is demand next week I can record an audio message and send it out haha.
Love you guys!
Pictures:
1) Simpson Graffiti. People here love the Simpsons so there is a ton of Simpson graffiti. I had to take a pic with gangster Bart cause he's got a California tatto.
2) os Elderes de Lavras
3) me in a caixa (box). Super epic
