Mega Super Email Spectacular

Hello family and friends!

It feels like a minute since I've written a good email and a lot of important things have happened so I'll try to touch on all of the briefly

GENERAL CONFERENCE:

General Conference as a missionary is one of the hypest things ever. I literally spend all day every day telling people that God loves us enough that he gives us living prophets just like the prophets in the Bible so when Conference time rolls around its so dope to add in, and he's gonna speak to you! And let's just say my boy Russell lived up to all the hype us missionaries have been giving him.

I loved his talk about being peacemakers. One part that I took note was when he talked about how the world is difficult enough and people don't need our judgement, they need our love and support! So every time we choose not to take offense we are denying the adversary and we can help make the world a little better.

EASTER:

President Nelson said "[Easter] is the most important religious observance for followers of Jesus Christ." I feel like I really did my job in sharing that message with everybody during Holy Week. I don't think I'm alone in this but I've never really thought about Holy Week that much, but we should! The most important acts in human history happened during that week! It was cool to see how Brazilians celebrate Easter here. While there are still many traditions related to chocolate eggs and bunnies it definitely seemed more Christ focused to me. They have a tradition to not eat meat on Good Friday which I think is interesting.

Also during Easter we showed a lot of people some of the awesome videos the church makes. They're kinda old but they're like 2 minutes a piece so give them a watch.

President Nelson's invite to forgive is incredible

TRANSFERS:

I got transfered out of Cascatinha! First time I've been in an area less than 4 1/2 months haha. Now I'm in an area called Alto da Serra, it's a ward in the same city Petrópolis. I'm whitewashing with an American comp so it'll be a fun transfer. Alto da Serra means something along the lines of "high of the sierra" and its name is very appropriate. We literally climb a MOUNTAIN everyday. But it is incredible because we have an INSANE view of Rio de Janeiro. You can literally see the entire city. Pictures just can't capture how cool it is. Also it's pretty dope that in a land locked mission, I can still see the ocean everyday 😎. But this area has got some pretty humble parts. There was a disaster that happened over a year ago where a bunch of landslides happened and a bunch of people had there houses destroyed and a bunch of people died. Some members were showing us the area and they showed us some areas were the landslides happened and you can see giant gaps in the stacked up houses where a ton of houses were washed away. It was a really horrific event and people have a lot of trauma from the rain now so it's pretty difficult to find people while it's raining and it rains A TON here. But in good news the members here are really strong and they're excited to build the church back up after the disaster. They had a couple baptisms the transfer before I got here and we've already got some people with potencial so it's gonna be great here!

SUPER DISTRCT COUNCIL:

Nothing much of note here. We had a "super district council" which was basically just a zone conference haha. But I made a pancake breakfast for the zone and it was almost a huge disaster because the pans were too small to flip the pancakes but then my boy Elder Dos Santos came in clutch with the master flipping technique. But I honestly have no idea what I was thinking taking on the responsibility to make a breakfast for 20 people by myself when I literally don't know how to cook haha. But it all worked out in the end.

Ok I love you guys send me and email if you feel so inclined :) but it might take me a minute to respond. Tchau

Lots of pictures today!
